The City of Greater Geelong (CoGG) and Quintessential Equity are partnering in a $200 million investment in Geelong’s new Civic Precinct.

The Civic Precinct will be named Wurriki Nyal, which comes from Wadawurrung words meaning "speak and talk together". The name was decided through close engagement between CoGG and Wadawurrung Traditional Owners.

CoGG is delivering the Civic Precinct to create environmental and workplace efficiencies, future-proofing the organisation’s workplace needs for the next two decades. The project will bring together seven central Geelong offices to drive collaboration and aims to reduce the existing operating costs. It is expected to save ratepayers over $2 million annually in energy and rental costs alone.

The multi-building design of the Civic Precinct includes a second commercial building to be funded completely by Quintessential Equity, creating sustainably designed, PCA A-Grade office space for an additional 900 full time workers in central Geelong.

Construction of the Civic Precinct began in mid-2020 and is expected to be completed by mid-2022.
